There are different age grades in Abba. An age grade in Abba is made up of males born within a three year bracket. In the years of NZUKO OBODO, the government and administrative orders in Abba, were handled by the age grades, while traditional and cultural issues were handled by the ELDERS and ICHIES. 

It is pertinent to mention that some are now extint. At the age of about 75years, Members of the Age grade are exempted from community labour and levies. The youngest Age Grade will be admitted in December 2011, after the annual congress
